Moray youth get conservatory-style shelter

A new glazed community shelter has been erected in Moray in the north of Scotland after youth workers campaigned to have it built, reports the Press and Journal.

The conservatory-style shelter will provide some much needed protection for all users of the local Dovecot Park, according to Moray Council community learning and development worker Amy Cheer.

"Older people can use it during the day when they are out walking their dogs, and football spectators can shelter while they watch the game," she told the Press and Journal.

"We worked so hard and the important thing was that we involved everyone."

The funds for the new glazed building were partly obtained by the Dookie Action Youth Group, who raised £13,000, while local building firm Springfield Properties provided a further £13,000.

A conservatory can be a great way of enjoying the outdoors without being exposed to the weather.

Property developer Miller Homes recently announced that its new homes in Windle will all have conservatories offering views of the gardens."ADNFCR-1495-ID-18845433-ADNFCR"
